About this Work

This painting was the first Piñata person painting and it is about everything this character stands for. Empathy, compassion, love, and care. This character is part imaginary friend, part inner self and part representation of the people you have in your life that are always there for you. Before making this painting I remember having a really terrible experience with a manipulative person that tried to convince me my feelings were not real or important. I cried that night on the bathroom floor and just wished that there was someone there to hold me and validate those feelings that I had. This Empathetic Pinnate creature appeared to me that night and has stuck with me ever since, guiding me to be that same benevolent spirit  to whoever I come in contact with.
