About this Work

"open wide my door, to whatever makes me love you more"

This is a lyric from the song C-minor by the band Mewithoutyou, where the painting gets its name. This piece is about gratitude. I began this piece soon after SIP set in. I had never been home so much in my life but I found work in my roommate's garden. Being able to pull up the weeds and plant vegetables for meals was very cathartic. During SIP i also became closer to my roommate in general, her being in her 70s I wanted to make sure I could keep her safe but we had a good time cooking, planting, doing puzzles and whatever else to pass the time. I am really thankful for her and the house we live in.
